Ridge Wine Pairing
Ridge Vineyards has been making wine since 1962 and contributed one of the first internationally recognized American Cabernet blends (Monte Bello) to the Judgement of Paris 1976 that showed the world American wine can stand toe to toe with the greatest French wines.
In addition to world-class Cabernet, Ridge makes among the finest Zinfandel America has to offer.
2021 Paso Robles is 100% Zinfandel and is a gorgeous example of this classic American favorite. Full-bodied with ripe red fruits with a hint of tart raspberry jam. Spice, vanilla, smooth tannins and mild acidity, this is a favorite to pair with all backyard BBQ fare.
2020 Lytton Springs is an example of what makes Ridge such an exceptional producer. 79% Zinfandel blended with 11% Petite Sirah, and 10% Carignane, these blending grapes give refinement and incredible balance to a varietal that can be a bit heavy-handed. Boosted with tannin and juiciness normally absent in Zinfandel, this is one of the greatest expressions you can have. Drink now, or age for a decade, it will be delicious now but also reward a little time.
Pairing curated by Andrew Stenson, our sommelier (and tenor) for the event.
Valued at $100, bidding start at $55.

Old & New World Bordeaux Pairing
Among their final few vintages from the Tapteil Vineyard, winemaker Ben Smith makes the various cuvées Cadence as an homage to his love of Bordeaux with the exceptional Bordeaux varietals grown in Washington State. Aged well enough to ensure silky tannins, red and black fruits both fresh and dried, and aromas of dried herbs (2015).
Château Pédesclaux is a 5ème cru classé from (arguably the greatest left-bank appellation in Bordeaux) Pauillac, also home to the first growth Chateau Lafite Rothschild, Mouton Rothschild, and Latour. A brilliant expression of everything Paulliac (deep concentration, notes of blackcurrant, spice, telltale old-world earthiness, and a touch of graphite dust). (2020)
Pairing curated by Andrew Stenson, our sommelier (and tenor) for the event.
Valued at $110, bidding starts at $60.
