LISTENING ROOM CONCERT: Stuff I've Been Feeling Lately (Mack & Cook, Rocky Mountain Premiere)

First up in our 2026 Deep Winter & Spring LISTENING ROOM CONCERT SERIES: Experience a powerful fusion of poetry and music at the Rocky Mountain premiere of composer Evan Mack’s new work, drawn from poet Alicia Cook’s acclaimed collection STUFF I’VE BEEN FEELING LATELY marking 10 years since its debut.

The evening opens with Alicia reading selections of her poetry, followed by a brief artist process conversation moderated by Heather Brophy, leading into the musical performance by Evan at the piano w/ Megan Marino, mezzo-soprano.

Friday, February 6, 7pm @ CMAC HQ & Musical Commons

Tickets: $15 general admission, free for all Creede School students & faculty/staff.

Can’t make it Friday? Join us on Sat. Feb. 7 @ 4pm at the Trade & Post in Del Norte for a different program that takes a deep dive into the poetry, Alicia’s signature mix tape A & B side blackout-style poetry, explores the songs she was “currently listening to” (listed at the end of each poem in her book), and musical excerpts of Evan’s new song cycle based on her work.

This weekend is presented in collaboration with the Creede Center for the Arts, Creede Underground Mining Museum & Community Center, and our newest partner, Trade & Post.
