Angel Stanislav Wang, piano: In the Music Room

Pianist Angel Stanislav Wang will preview his Aspen Music Festival solo program at the home of Bill and Teri Smith in Creede.

Angel is on the fast train & we’re thrilled he’ll be with us in Creede to play a massive program up close & personal for us on Bill & Teri’s 6’8” Concert Schimmel.

Musical Program:
GRANADOS: Quejas o la Maja y el Ruiseñor (The Maiden and the Nightingale), from Goyescas, op. 11, no. 4
LISZT: Piano Sonata in B minor, LW A179
DEBUSSY: Estampes
STRAVINSKY: Three Movements from Petrushka

This demonically difficult program, which includes both Liszt’s B minor Sonata and Stravinsky's Three Movements from Petrushka, will showcase Wang’s commanding technique and unique artistic personality.

Praised for his expressive depth, commanding technique, and artistic individuality, Angel Stanislav Wang has quickly drawn international attention as a rare and compelling new voice. Now at only 23 years old, Wang has won more than 35 international competitions, and his major accolades include the Silver Medal at the 17th International Tchaikovsky Competition, becoming the youngest finalist at the 2025 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, and winning First Prize at the International Rachmaninoff Piano Competition.
